Airports

My sister and I in South Africa boarding our flight to Madagascar
I am on the final flight of my trip to Madagascar. This is my fourth flight of the trip and Madagascar will be the fourth country I have been in during this voyage. It has been interesting to see the cultural differences in each of the airports. The first airport I stayed in was in Dallas, Texas. In this airport the workers all seemed pretty laid back and easy going. For example, I saw several janitors watching a basketball game that was being shown. This was in contrast to my next stop in the London airport where it seemed like all the workers were busy. These employees seemed to be trying to be as effective and helpful as possible. The next airport I stopped in was in Johannesburg, South Africa. This airport seemed to be in less of a well-maintained state than the others. For example, we took a bus to get to our plane and the door from the airport to the buses was being propped open with a trashcan to prevent it from locking in between travelers. This was a stark contrast to other airports that all seemed more modern.
I have not seen any parts of the country other than the airports so I realize that this is a very limited glimpse into different cultures, but it is interesting to me to see these little differences and speculate on how they may reflect on the culture. I am anxious to be able to see the Madagascar airport and then see if it reflects their culture.
